Free Comic Book Day 2025 is almost here! Here’s what this fun event is all about!
The official 2025 Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Event is being held on May 3rd and it’s one event you won’t want to miss! Local comic shops are handing out FREE comic books and there may be a participating store near you! To find one, enter your zip code into the Free Comic Book Day Store Locator.
In addition to passing out free comics, many local shops celebrate the day with contests, creator signings, photo opportunities with costumed characters, and more!
Note that there is typically a limit of one free comic book per person, however, some shops may be offering more. Many stores have included this information under their Free Comic Book Day listing which may help you determine which shop(s) you want to visit.
Hip Tip: Be sure to also check with your local library as many also participate in Free Comic Book Day!

What titles will be featured during Free Comic Book Day 2025?
Each year, the FCBD sponsor committee chooses a handful of titles, called the Gold Sponsor collection, that you can get for FREE at ALL participating locations on Free Comic Day.

What’s the difference between the Gold Comics collection and the Silver Comics collection?
Each year, the FCBD committee chooses the selection of titles that will be available during Free Comic Book Day. These comics are either considered Gold or Silver.
- The Gold Comics that we listed above are FREE books that are available at every single participating location.
- The Silver Comics are FREE books that may be available at select locations.
Remember, there is only one FREE book per customer. Which will you choose?! 📚
Hip readers have really enjoyed Free Comic Day in the past…
We have been participating in this event for years now. Our local comic book store allows you to pick five comics for free and five more if you make a purchase. Free comics are created for the event. We love going because they always have a sale. Today, all comics were 50% off!
We were able to participate through our library and we got so many fun titles. We also got some graphic novels (book style) stickers, tattoos, and a last kids on earth inflatable bat for free! So much fun!
